Chamber Party | Stars & Strings: A Celebration with the Viano Quartet at Pittock Mansion

Celebrate America’s 250th birthday with an unforgettable musical experience at one of Portland’s most iconic and beloved landmarks, the Pittock Mansion.
On Saturday, July 4, join Chamber Music Northwest and Pittock Mansion for a special celebration featuring an intimate performance by the world-renowned Viano Quartet. This event launches a new partnership between our two organizations and opens a new chapter for Pittock Mansion as it welcomes us to its historic grounds.
Perched high above the city, Pittock Mansion offers a remarkable backdrop to commemorate our nation’s semiquincentennial. As we reflect on 250 years of American history, we invite you to gather where Portland’s own story comes into view—surrounded by sweeping vistas, shared connection, and extraordinary music.
Enjoy a thoughtfully crafted summer menu of hors d’oeuvres and local wine as you settle in for an afternoon with the Viano Quartet. Praised for their “virtuosity, visceral expression, and rare unity of intention” (Boston Globe), the Viano Quartet has quickly risen to international acclaim as one of the most dynamic and in-demand string quartets of their generation. On a day when fireworks will light the sky across Portland, they offer a different kind of brilliance: a spectacular musical experience shared up close in an unforgettable setting.
For those attending the Young Artist Institute Finale Showcase earlier that day, this event provides a seamless continuation of the festivities. Join us at Pittock Mansion following the finale to relax, mingle, and celebrate alongside some of the world’s finest chamber musicians.
