Thank you for making our 2010 festival such a success!

Chamber Music Northwest's 40th anniversary summer festival closed Sunday, July 25, leaving many wonderful memories.

This summer was full of special moments, and we invite you to look through the festival photo gallery for a visual journey. Numerous reviews are posted, along with blog posts from great local bloggers, including OPB’s ArtBeat and our own Protégé artists.

We are grateful to all the fantastic musicians who took part in this season's concerts – both our “veterans” and our “protégés” – and we thank you for being a part of our audience family this summer. We are pleased to announce that CMNW will have a break-even budget again this year, for the 31st consecutive year!

Among this season's highlights:

• CMNW's new initiative, the Protégé Project, was a runaway success, adding fresh faces to the CMNW mainstage concerts, along with a new Sunday "Alt" Series at casual neighborhood performance spaces. Our deep appreciation goes to Ronni Lacroute for generously supporting this project!

• Soprano Sylvia McNair made her radiant CMNW debut with an unforgettable concert of timeless standards from the Great American Songbook, leaving the audience enraptured..

• Three newly-commissioned works were received with great enthusiasm by the CMNW audience, who applauded two of the visiting composers, Steven Stucky and Sheridan Seyfried.

• 12 of the 26 concerts were played to audiences of 500-700, and the new “Downtown Fridays” series at the Gerding Theatre in the Pearl District drew many new listeners.
