CMNW presents a trio of outstanding artists who are long-time colleagues and friends – violinist Ani Kavafian, pianist Mihae Lee, and William Purvis, French horn – who are known from their past appearances at the festival. The Triton Trio came together to explore the wondrous sonorities of violin, horn and piano, and to share varied musical programs with their listeners. For this concert, they offer two masterpieces by Johannes Brahms, and a trio by Romanian-born 20th century composer György Ligeti, who is perhaps best known for having his music in three Stanley Kubrick films.
